Tory Lanez released a new music video for "Beauty In The Benz," a standout single off of the Chixtape 5 album, which was released on November 15. Listen and watch the video above.
"Beauty In The Benz" features a sample from Snoop Dogg's classic "Beautiful" and includes a verse from the legendary rapper himself. Lanez and Snoop reinvent the 2003 hit while keeping elements from the original song's production that fans will know and appreciate. The song also samples Jay-Z's "I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me)" which, like "Beautiful," was produced by The Neptunes (Pharrell & Chad Hugo).
The music video begins with a woman describing what the word "beauty" means to her. As various women engage in what they love, such as listening to music with friends, hair styling, and boxing, each and every one of them exudes an unapologetic confidence. Tory Lanez keeps the Chixtape throwback aesthetic in this video with old fashioned radios, hot combs, and a nostalgic beat.
Alicia Keys makes an appearance at the end of the video, delving into her own meanings of beauty and self-confidence. The singer says, "You know, your curves, or your 'imperfections,' you just get rid of other's opinions, or you say 'I don't care what you think about me, this is me!'" Lanez ends the empowering music video with women of many different shades and sizes standing confidently with their eyes closed, showing their beauty as flower petals fall from the ceiling.
Along with "Beauty In The Benz," Chixtape 5 is full of early 2000s R&B samples, along with new verses from all the original hitmakers. The album is available on Amazon and major streaming platforms.
