Is anyone in music having as much fun as Rod Stewart these days?

Since the release and success of 2013’s Time which was Stewart’s first original songwriting effort in almost 20 years, the 70-year-old claims to have found renewed songwriting inspiration. "When my last album was so well-received, it gave me the confidence to keep on writing, and to examine and write about different things," Stewart said in a recent statement, "It also gave me the freedom to experiment with different sounds like reggae, ska and Celtic melodies.”

Stewart’s fans got a taste of the British titan's upcoming album, Another Country, in the form of a sweeping love song titled "Love Is." Watch above, via Stewart's official YouTube channel.

Performed on the rooftop of the iconic Capitol Records building in Los Angeles, the song is a celtic-inspired ode to love, lovers, and longing. Stewart, accompanied by guitars, violins, and a hammered dulcimer, brings his ageless vibrancy and timeless rasp to the ballad while his backup vocalists help the track feel as if it might soar over the nearby Hollywood Hills.

“Love Is" harks back to Stewart’s bread and butter: uptempo love songs. But Stewart has alluded that in addition to the theme of love, military life will be another key component to the album. In May, he told’s Melinda Newman, “I’ve wondered about being in the armed forces, away from your sweetheart and your family… that must be heartbreaking… that is what Another Country is all about.”

Another Country arrives on October 23 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
