Meek Mill pays tribute to fallen rapper and Coke Boys member Chinx Drugs with his latest track "Miss My Dawgs."
Yesterday morning, Chinx Drugs was shot and killed in a drive-by-shooting in his hometown of Queens, NY. His death hit the hip hop community pretty hard as Wiz Khalifa, P. Diddy, and of course French Montana all expressed their grief. Chinx was only 31 years old.
Meek must have started writing this song right after he heard the news. With "Miss My Dawgs" being released the day after his murder, this might be one of the quickest tribute songs recorded in hip hop. The Philly rapper also pays tribute to his protege Lil Snupe, who was killed in 2013 at age 18. He begins the song with the lines:
They killed Chinx Drugz in his own city
They killed Lil Snupe in his own city
Wonder why I don't be in my own city
I don't know if niggas gone clap for me or going to kill me
Meek took the twitter and expressed how he truly feels about Chinx's death:
I take that shit personal when somebody that's truly Tryna win get killed..... I really feel that shit in my chest!
