On August 7th, 2014, Alejandro Rose-Garcia, better known as Shakey Graves, stopped by KEXP to play a few songs and talk about his debut full-length album, And The War Came. The one-man band brought by a drummer to switch things up, but he still was pounding percussion with his feet.

The Austin-based musician has a loyal fanbase and it's not hard to tell why. His gravelly vocals and his kickass guitar playing create an amazing performance. Alejandro and his drummer, Boo, fill the KEXP studio with more boisterous sound then most large bands. A great part of this is because of the musicians' passion and energy taking over the whole studio.

Between songs, the singer-songwriter discusses his acting career and how he might appear in a Hollywood blockbuster soon, "I mean I'm supposed to be in Sin City 2 for a few minutes before I get killed Mickey Rourke." Shakey Graves also discusses how his hometown named a day after him and how he spent it playing laser tag.

The song "Dearly Departed" stole the show. You can stream the song on Spotify before the album's release on October 7th, 2014. The tune has an eerie vibe with an irresistible hook where Alejandro cries out, "You and I both know this house is haunted / You and I both know the ghost is me." Shakey Graves played his heart out along with his drummer. Make sure to check out the performance above.

You can preorder Shakey Graves' album And The War Came on iTunes, Amazon, and his official website.
