Today, pop singer Kesha has released her first new recording in over three years. Listen to her powerful performance of Zedd's anthemic track "True Colors" above, courtesy of Zedd's YouTube channel.

The song was originally released on Zedd's album of the same name in 2015, with the lyrics sung by Tim James. Last summer, they released a spectacular music video with the song sync'd to the lights of the Empire State Building in NYC.

Earlier this month, Kesha performed the tune with Zedd at Coachella and now it is turning into a personal anthem of hers in light of her recent years-long ugly court battle with Dr. Luke and Sony Music Entertainment that stemmed from alleged "sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional" abuse over ten years. In response, Dr. Luke and Sony have maintained their innocence and made claims that Kesha has lied about the situation.

Just before Coachella, Kesha's legal complaint was formally dismissed by a New York judge. In the fallout of the controversial court decision, Kesha has gotten lots of support from many, especially females in the music industry including Adele, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Lorde, and Haim.

Kesha shared her thoughts about the song on her Facebook page:

It's such a blessing that Zedd has given me this opportunity to record his song "True Colors." This song’s message spoke to me so deeply that I knew I had to find my own interpretation and record it, to spread the beautiful message of personal empowerment. It gives me hope that I will someday soon be able to release my own album. Until then let's all celebrate our own truth. ‪#‎truecolors‬
