Over the weekend, the 2013 Americana Music Festival aired on PBS. One of the highlights was Old Crow Medicine Show performing their classic "Wagon Wheel" that's brightened up many livingroom jam sessions, campfires, and street performances since it was first released in 2004. Great to see the band perform the song live and as part of this "Nashville 2.0" event, and it was certainly a special moment.
Not a lot of people realize that the song was actually an unfinished Bob Dylan song, which Old Crow frontman / singer / fiddle player Ketch Secor took and turned into a complete song. The backstory is definitely worth reading over on Wikipedia, for people who love Americana and Bob Dylan music. Here's Dylan's original unfinished version of the song from 1973:
